In fewer than 36 hours, we will know who has been selected to lead St. Catharines and Niagara through the next four years at City Council and Regional Council, and I want to take a moment to say thank you.

Thank you to all of the residents who took time to chat with the politician who just showed up on their property.

Thank you to all of the people who came out to meet me at various events.

Thank you to all of the people who offered words of support and encouragement along the way.

Thank you to all of the people who have voted by mail, at an advance poll, or will vote tomorrow.

Thank you to all of the people who worked on making this election run smoothly for voters and candidates.

And, of course, thank you to all of the candidates for having the courage to put your name on the ballot.
